“A working developer breaks down flat-rate software pricing. Real quotes, cost math, and what unlimited requests buys (and costs).”
I run a flat-rate software development shop, and this show is me thinking out loud about what the business looks like from the inside. Each episode takes one piece of the model and runs the numbers on it: what a senior developer costs once you load salary with benefits and payroll taxes, how a one-active-request queue changes what "unlimited" is worth, and where a flat monthly fee beats (or loses to) hiring. I build in Python for a living, so a lot of the examples come from that world: backends, automation, data pipelines. If you price dev work, buy dev work, or just like listening to someone do arithmetic about contracts, this is your show. No guests needed to follow along, but I am looking for people who price software differently: agency owners, contractors, and devs who have tried the retainership game.
