About Me

Zipa Leah Scheinberg, LCSW, is a trauma therapist, EMDR Consultant, educator, and author whose work focuses on a question that is often missing from conversations about trauma: What never had the chance to develop because survival came first?

For almost twenty years, she has worked with survivors of developmental trauma, complex PTSD, childhood abuse, neglect, and dissociation. Drawing from attachment science, developmental psychology, EMDR, somatic approaches, and neuroscience, she developed the Developmental Trauma, Decoded™ framework—a practical model for understanding how early adversity shapes the capacities we carry into adulthood.

Rather than asking only, "What happened to you?" her work also asks, "What developmental capacities were interrupted?" This shift gives survivors a new map for healing that moves beyond symptom management toward building safety, identity, trust, emotional regulation, belonging, and resilience.

Zipa Leah has taught graduate students, consults with clinicians, and is currently developing the Reclamation Course and the BELONGING workbook. Her podcast conversations help audiences rethink trauma through the lens of development, leaving listeners with practical insights, hope, and a deeper understanding of how healing happens.
