“South African expat & educator in China. Author that writes cyber-occult thrillers dismantling dogmatic fear & authority. Legacy of Ash.”
I am the founder of Brotherhood Press and the author of the cyber-occult techno-thriller, The Legacy of Ash.
My journey to becoming a thriller author is not traditional. Growing up in South Africa, I was raised in a highly fundamentalist, fear-based religious foster home where dogma was used as a tool for control. It took years to realize I was living in a psychological cage. I eventually left everything behind, moving to China as an educator to start a new life.
It was there that my fascination with ancient history, computer science, and occult philosophy collided. I wanted to write a manifesto about breaking the cages of institutional authority, but I disguised it as a high-octane thriller ("Dan Brown meets William Gibson"). In my novels, the ancient 'Ars Goetia' isn't demonic magic—it is the uncompiled mathematical source code of reality, and the protagonist uses C++ programming to weaponize it against a modern, shadow-Vatican Inquisition.
I am passionate about discussing the intersection of technology and ancient mythology, the psychological impact of escaping religious fundamentalism, the true meaning of morality (doing good without the fear of Hell), and the gritty reality of indie publishing while living as an expat in Asia.
