Vincent Edmunds

I am a UK, Uttoxeter based artist who creates unique glass art in the form of automotive emblems. Using an exclusive process for glass decoration, with timeless craftsmanship I chip glass prior to gilding it with 24 carat gold leaf, producing work that respects true craftsmanship, and the legacy associated with classic automotive brands.

A childhood love of classic cars originated from my collections of diecast models, and combining this with a fascination for drawing, it is easy to see how my artistic journey began.

What followed was an obvious progression into a career in mechanical engineering, leading to a master’s degree, and so, grounded in this background it is understandable that my work reflects a commitment to precision and clarity.

My work is held in private collections throughout the UK, Europe and America, and is currently featured at the Silverstone Escapade gallery.

I believe that through my art I must continuously strive to think and act differently from the rest of the genre in which I work but still maintain a link to a bygone era of craftsmanship and artistry that allow my creations to hang proudly in any home, car space or office.

My work embodies a respect for this enduring process and the way that it can be utilised in today’s fast paced world to bring a real sense of belonging and shared beauty.

Further to the above in August 2020 I lost my 34 year old son suddenly and unexpectedly, which changed both me and my world forever. Coming to terms with this loss and the subsequent grief felt impossible initially, but over time my art held me together and has proved to be an invaluable support to me.
