Passionate about equipping and empowering young people to change the world, and with over a decade of experience in the social change space, I founded the Humanitarian Changemakers Network in 2019, a Brisbane-based social enterprise that works with secondary schools and youth groups to catalyse young Australian's to become changemakers.
I have a professional background in campaigning, community organising, media and communications for humanitarian and human rights organisations. I am currently a PhD candidate, researching the role of communication in promoting social change and sustainable development, with an academic background in sociology and philosophy.
With a passion for solutions-focused storytelling for social change, I edit the Changing Times news, published a social change handbook for young people, and host the Changemaker Q&A podcast. As a social entrepreneur passionate about using business as a tool for change, I run an e-commerce sustainable fashion start-up, Changemaker Co. and have recently started a life coaching business serving Changemakers that is centred around three key pillars; philosophy, spirituality, and social change.
While it’s very niche and not super relevant to my aforementioned vocation, I’ve worked in adult entertainment for the last 7 years, and as a sex-positive feminist and passionate advocate for sex worker’s rights, I am always open to combining my own stories and experiences in the sex industry with my knowledge & professional experience in human rights activism to help clarify any misconceptions, or just to satisfy people’s curiosity!
