“Co-host of the Faith Rehab podcast, Author, 30+ years of experience as mental health professional, Former Pastor... oh, and funny too!”
Are you looking for someone who is compassionate, serious, playful, and funny? I am all those things.
I have a background that includes 30+ years as a mental health clinician, former high school Social Studies teacher, former football and wrestling coach, former pastor, author of (Simple, Enormous, Love. Or, Everything I Ever Needed to Know About God I Learned in Romans 8), co-host of the Faith Rehab Podcast, former professional trainer in issues of inclusion, mental health, and faith.
Mental Health and Faith can be blended into a healing potion or a toxic poison; knowing how to manage the hurts, help the healing, and promote continued growth is why we started our podcast (Faith Rehab Podcast). I have a passion to help people name their issues as a beginning of growth, not let their issues name them as way to keep us stuck.
I am good at connecting with audiences, teaching complicated topics in simple ways, I will blend humor, insights, wisdom, faith, and compassion.
I have spend much of my career mentoring leaders, pastors, mental health professionals, young dads, and others who need someone to bounce things off of as well as someone who will help with grace and acceptance.
I am comfortable talking about any of these topics:
· Trying new things (I once did 60 new things in one year to celebrate turning 60)
· Advice from a Dad- I have two boys, both adopted, both in their 30s
· Long-term marriage- we are celebrating 40 years married this year
Long-term friendship -my best friend and I have been friends for 50 years
