Hey! I'm Rory. I'm the Director of a vegan/climate-based gaming start-up called This Is Not A Game as well as Growth Manager at a plant-based dog food company. I used to campaign at a leading UK vegan charity and was a Podcast manager and host for another animal advocacy group (so I have plenty of experience with the format).
I am writing a book at the moment (www.ofmeatandmen.substack.com) called 'Of Meat and Men'. It's something of an answer to 'The Sexual Politics of Meat' with an eye at casting light on the culture war within the animal advocacy movement. The book comes from a place of radical centrism and consciousness raising around men's issues (controversial, I know!). It is too easy to assume that men's meat addiction is a result of patriarchy; in the book, however, I argue that we men are being disproportionately killed en masse by marketeers and the generally miserable mental health within the manosphere. The topic is complex, but I'm happy to hash out the arguments I give in podcasts of all shapes and sizes who have any stake in manhood, masculinity, fitness, health, feminism and gender issues, veganism, animal rights, climate change, politics, or anything else.
On top of that, I'm a plant-based nutritionist (certificate from the University of Winchester) with a sporting background in rowing and ultramarathon running.
