“Robert Stark is an author, farmer, and combat veteran who lives off-grid in rural Alaska with his wife and four kids.”
Robert Stark is the author of the bestselling memoir, Warflower, and it's follow-up memoir, Just Like a Soldier. He is a writer, farmer, and family man focused on decisions, divinity, and daily habits. He thrives on guiding people to unlock their unlimited potential despite their tragic pasts. He has lived off-grid in the wild Alaskan woods for thirteen quiet years, where he has had plenty of time and space to implement the fifty topics of transformation detailed in the book. After paying off his mortgage at the age of thirty-five, Robert walked away from the security of a full-time job working with active addicts to pursue his own dreams instead of everybody else’s.
As a child, Robert was an All-American kid who spent his days playing baseball, riding bikes, and skateboarding, until his mother married a man doing life in prison for murder, and everything changed. For the next twenty years, he jumped between people, places, and things in search of peace, purpose, and belonging. An infantryman in Iraq, a peanut butter salesman in Guatemala, a small-town reporter in Alaska, and a commercial fisherman were but a few of his jobs. No matter where he went and what he did, the same struggles presented themselves—until he realized that the common denominator was himself. With the right role models, daily practices, and higher purpose, Robert stopped letting life happen to him and started healing the past to create a better future.
Robert Stark is the first in his family to graduate from both high school and college. He holds a BA from the Evergreen State College and a Construction Technology certification from the Alaska Vocational Technical Center. He lives the good life with his four wild kids and one wild wife in an off-grid cabin on a small farm in rural Alaska.
