I'm RJ Grimshaw Founder of The AI CEO, creator of Operator-Led AI, and author of The AI Edge. I help business owners and leadership teams apply AI by analyzing the real workflow, building around the actual operating need, leveraging what the company already knows, and executing inside the business. I call it ABLE leadership.
For 10 years I was President and CEO of UniFi Equipment Finance, a Bank of Ann Arbor platform. From 2013 to 2023, my team grew annual originations from $14M to $115M+, built a $250M+ portfolio, and reduced operating costs by 30 percent. No automation, just disciplined workflow and process. Across 25+ years in equipment finance, I have originated more than $1B and served more than 10,000 clients.
When I come on a podcast, I talk about AI the way an operator does. Not theory. Not tool talk. The real work: workflows, accountability, and what AI actually needs to land inside a real business. I am a U.S. Air Force veteran, I co-founded my first $1M+ business at age 23, and I have spent more than 20 years coaching hockey. The operator instinct runs through all of it.
