About Me

Rebecca Ashley (she/her) is a mental health and 2SLGBTQIA+ advocate, writer, storyteller, and public speaker. She is an aroace lesbian who has lived experience with depression, anxiety, and POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). She works as a storyteller for a hospital foundation, and in her spare time she is also a volunteer with AUREA and has spoken about her experiences as a lesbian-oriented aromantic asexual and queer advocate on podcasts and in panel discussions.

Prior to her advocacy work relating to mental health and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, Rebecca was also the founder and president of Arts Healing Hearts, a Canadian registered charity that brings music and arts programs to hospital patients. She led the entirely volunteer-run organization for six years, working with hospitals such as SickKids and the University Health Network, before stepping down from her role to pursue other opportunities in September of 2019.

Her past work can be found on her Linktree (linktr.ee/iambeccaashley), and you can follow her on Instagram at @iambeccaashley. For writing or public speaking inquiries, please contact her directly at [email protected].
