I'm one of the easternmost lesbians in the United States. I'm a well-published author with a new book out called Shift: A Memoir of Identity and Other Illusions. I founded and am now director of Iota: Short Prose Conference in Maine, and I have served as an editor of Brevity magazine, so I can talk about flash nonfiction. I'm funny and quick on my feet. I am also a person in sustained recovery from alcoholism, which I have written and published about extensively. I can talk about writing, transitioning from straight to gay at the age of 39, queer rurality, same sex marriage, alcoholism, recovery, feminism, dogs, kids, writing with an intense day job, and whatever else someone might propose.
