I'm Paul David Stanko, author of "42 Stories of Life, the Universe, ...Everything!" and host of its companion podcast, Forgiveness, Unity, Courage & Kindness.
The book is a collection of short, true, irreverent stories. They're funny, a little geeky, sometimes profane, and each one sneaks a big spiritual or philosophical idea in through the side door. You don't have to believe any of it. I'd just like you to think about it. The podcast goes chapter by chapter and behind the scenes: the story behind each story, the pop-culture rabbit holes, and the practical wisdom left over once the laughing stops.
I come to this from more than 40 years of serving spiritual communities and more than 25 years as an ordained minister. I'm also a Tarot card reader, a musician, and a lifelong collector of strange and meaningful stories. That mix makes me a good fit for shows about personal growth, spirituality without the stuffiness, creativity, humor, and the messy work of being human.
And then, at 60, life handed me a new story. A DNA test revealed that my biological father is not the man on my birth certificate. I have a whole other family I never knew existed. And it hasn't changed who my dad is. Oh, and surprise: this white boy is 1% Nigerian. That is an adventure all its own.
As a guest, I bring honest conversation, real stories, and a sense of humor about all of it. I'll laugh with your audience, maybe make them a little uncomfortable, and leave them with something worth chewing on.
