I am a non-fiction writer and a former columnist for Tribune Publishing. My work has appeared in newspapers, magazines and in PBS and NPR on-air commentaries. My poetry has been published in the New York Times.
My commentaries have been recognized by the Pennsylvania Women's Press Association with an "Excellence in Journalism" award, I am a strong advocate for women's rights and empowerment both at home and abroad. I have twice traveled to Afghanistan on fact-finding missions and as an embedded journalist.
I have been honored to receive numerous awards througout my career, including being named a Pearl S. Buck International Woman of Influence for my body of work.
