Odemi Pessu is an author, artist, and women's rights and mental health advocate. She is currently the Content & Storytelling Marketing Manager at Coupa Software. Odemi earned her Master of Public Affairs at Brown University, where she also earned her bachelor’s degree in International Relations concentrating in Political Economy. Odemi is the author of Force of Nature, a book encouraging African women to lean into their vulnerability for strength and to honor their divine feminine energy for spiritual liberation. She is a Ron Brown Scholar, a Questbridge Scholar and recognized by the Georgia House of Representatives. Her research focuses on matters of postcolonial development, gender equity, and political ecology in Nigeria, her family’s home country. A visual artist, culture enthusiast, and zealot for socio-economic equity, Odemi intends to utilize creative media to empower vulnerable communities and drive labor diversification in the developing world. She plans to revolutionize the way digital media is used to educate and empower overlooked communities.
