“Founder of PICOS, Spanish Immersion Retreats, Language Learning & Cultural Connection Expert”
I'm the founder of PICOS, a company that helps adults learn Spanish through immersive language retreats across the UK. My mission is simple: to prove that language learning should be about human connection, confidence, and real-life experiences—not just memorising vocabulary or completing lessons on an app.
Originally from Hungary, I've lived in four different countries and speak four languages. Those experiences completely changed how I see communication, culture, and personal growth. Moving between countries taught me that language isn't just a skill—it creates opportunities, builds relationships, and helps people feel at home wherever they are.
After living in the UK for more than eight years, I noticed that many adults wanted to learn Spanish but felt stuck. They were spending months—or even years—using language apps or attending weekly classes, yet still lacked the confidence to hold a real conversation. Many also described the learning process as lonely and disconnected.
That's why I founded PICOS. Instead of sending people abroad, I created immersive Spanish retreats in some of the UK's most beautiful locations, combining language learning with hiking, local experiences, authentic food, cultural activities, and meaningful conversations. My goal is to recreate the magic of language immersion while building a genuine sense of community.
Many of the people I work with are busy professionals or retirees who want more than another course. They want adventure, purpose, confidence, and meaningful human interaction. Watching someone go from being afraid to speak Spanish to confidently having conversations is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
Beyond language learning, I'm passionate about entrepreneurship, cultural exchange, adult education, wellbeing, and the power of stepping outside our comfort zones. As an immigrant who built a business in the UK, I also enjoy sharing the realities of starting a company in a new country, adapting to different cultures, and turning personal challenges into meaningful opportunities.
