“Author/Cat Mama | Books: Little Miracles of Katrina, Miracle of the Meow, and From Storm to Scout | Stories of Rescue, Resilience & Grace”
Hi, I’m M.V. Despenza — author of Little Miracles of Katrina, a true story of divine rescues, resilience, and unexpected grace in the days and weeks following Hurricane Katrina.
I write heartfelt stories centered around hope, faith, family, second chances, and the extraordinary moments hidden inside ordinary life. My work blends humor, humanity, heartbreak, and inspiration in a way that resonates with readers from all walks of life.
In addition to Little Miracles of Katrina, I’m also the author of two children’s books, Miracle of the Meow and From Storm to Scout, both inspired by rescue animals and the healing connection between people and pets.
Beyond writing, I work professionally in Human Resources and often speak candidly about balancing career, creativity, caregiving, stress, reinvention, and pursuing long-delayed dreams later in life.
I love conversations that feel genuine and uplifting — whether discussing Hurricane Katrina, miracles and survival, writing and publishing, animal rescue, family dynamics, faith, resilience, women reinventing themselves, or finding purpose through storytelling and service.
Recently, I donated signed copies of my books to Big House Books, a nonprofit organization serving incarcerated readers through literacy outreach — an experience that deeply reinforced my belief that stories can comfort, connect, heal, and inspire.
I’d love the opportunity to join your show and share honest, meaningful, and often humorous conversations that leave audiences encouraged, entertained, and hopeful.
