SCAN MAN THE NEPHILUM
Martiness Henderson, is a Memphis, Tennessee, born and bred Emcee. He got his first break in the music game when he released a song called “Make A Strang” with local Memphis Disc Jockey named DJ Fila. Martiness went by the stage name Scan Man and soon hooked up with DJ Paul and Juicy J. He recorded an underground classic entitled “Runnin Lip” featuring fellow Memphis Legends M.C. Mack and K-Rock. Soon after, Scan Man found his self apart of Three 6 Mafia’s super group called Prophet Posse. He also was a part of the controversial Hip Hop group The Killa Klan Kaze alongside M.C. Mack and Project Pat. Scan Man paved his way as a underground legend by displaying his lyrical and brash rhymes on such songs as “Murderer, Robber” on Prophet Posse’s Body Parts Compilation, Three 6 Mafia’s “Body Parts 2” off their platinum selling album “Chpt. 2 World Domination” as well as the song “All About My Hustle” from his group The Kaze.
Scan Man has had the honor and privilege to record with some of Memphis’ Hip Hop Elites. Since going solo, Scan Man started his indie label Nephilum Muzicc, Inc. as well as Kami Kaze Inc. with longtime friend and collaborator M.C. Mack Da Undaboss. Scan Man also produced, recorded, mixed and featured on the late Koopta Knicca’s album “The Mind Of Robert Cooper”. He continues to make great music and work with some of the hottest new artists from the South and Midwest. Together, Scan Man started two clothing lines, Nephilum Apparel and Kami Kaze Apparel. With a niche sound and fanbase, he continues to be a force in the music scene. He keeps his presence relevant, by releasing vivid artistic imagery through music and videos.
Scan Man is motivated and has a lot of plans for the future. He is determined to get his recognition, not only as a Memphis Legend, but a Southern Rap Legend. He feels he has not received the status he deserves. He has produced and lent his vocals to some of the biggest songs from Three 6 Mafia, Prophet Posse and Hypnotize Camp Posse. Scan is appreciative of the opportunity and experience of working with such respected artists, but he feels that it’s long overdue to get his well-deserved credit.
