“I am well-rounded, engaging, and passionate. I have degrees in the fields of theology, religion, geology, poetry, law, and English.”
I grew up in a small, no-name town in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Upon graduation from high school, I attended James Madison University (JMU) in Harrisonburg, VA, where I majored in geology. After earning a B.S. from JMU, I went into the workforce and spent time as an engineering geologist and police officer. Eventually, I went back to school and earned a Master of Science in Physical Science/Earth Science, Master of Arts in Religion, Master of Divinity, Master of Theology in Practical Theology, Master of Fine Arts in Poetry, and Doctor of Ministry. I'm currently a legal studies major at a Christian law school. I hope to graduate in the summer of 2021.
I am also a 24-year veteran of the U.S. Army and currently serve as a chaplain in the Army Reserve. Additionally, I pastor a small church in the Lynchburg, VA, area.
Most importantly, I am married to a wonderful woman named Beth who, to the consternation of my devout Southern family (just kidding), is originally from Northfield, NJ (just outside of Atlantic City). We have five great children: Luke (16 years), Megan (14 years), Jack (12 years), Levi (8 years), and Sadie (6 years). We currently reside in Lynchburg, VA.
