“‘The World’s Leading Focus Expert’ – The Times. Bestselling Author (books translated into 20 languages)”
I’m Mark Tigchelaar, recognised by The Times as 'the world’s leading expert on focus and performance'.
I’m a cognitive psychologist by training, an international keynote speaker, and the author of six bestselling books translated into 20 languages. Over the past two decades, I’ve delivered more than 1,600 keynotes worldwide and trained over 100,000 people through keynotes and masterclasses. Through my speaking, writing and training, my work has impacted more than half a million people.
Today, I work with organisations facing one of the biggest performance challenges of our time: distraction, cognitive overload and declining focus. In fast-paced environments, attention has become a limiting factor for productivity, decision-making and leadership effectiveness. My work helps leaders and teams regain control of their focus so they can think more clearly, prioritise better and perform consistently under pressure.
I’ve worked with and spoken for international organizations including PwC, Oracle, Heineken, Siemens, Accenture, BNP Paribas, Coca-Cola, and Capgemini, helping leaders and teams perform better across the globe.
'Walking the talk'
My work is grounded not only in science, but in lived experience. I regularly test focus in real-world conditions, including training with the Dutch Navy SEALs, climbing Mont Blanc with no prior mountaineering experience, and experiencing decision-making under pressure during a skydiving malfunction. These experiences shape how I translate neuroscience into practical strategies that work under real pressure.
