Liana Lucine

I’m Liana Lucine, author of Men Ignored, a former Metropolitan Police officer and a learning specialist with over 25 years’ experience in training, policy, leadership and behaviour change.

My work focuses on the uncomfortable gap between what the evidence shows and what society is often willing to acknowledge: that men can also be victims of sexual assault, sexual harassment and domestic abuse.

On podcasts, I bring a thoughtful, evidence-based and plain-speaking perspective to conversations about male victims, trauma, shame, silence, masculinity, gender bias and social attitudes. I draw on official data, academic research, frontline experience and my professional background in training people to deal with difficult human situations.

I do not approach this subject as a men-versus-women argument. I approach it as a truth, safety and humanity issue. My aim is to help listeners think more clearly, question old assumptions, and understand why recognising male victims matters, not instead of anyone else, but alongside everyone else.
