“Full time traveller and travel writer. Qualified teacher, writer and theatre practitioner. Shakespeare & folklore fanatic.”
My proudest travel moments include taking a student expedition team to Ecuador. Having treated herself to a trip of the Trans-Siberian railroad for my 30th birthday, I am now looking forward to being in Japan for my 40th. Together with my husband, Jon, I run the travel website www.twohumansandadog.com. This focuses on dog-friendly adventure travel. We have enjoyed plenty of adventures together from a road trip around Cuba to diving in the Galapagos Islands. Recently we eloped and spent our honeymoon volunteering around the Balkans.
My twin passions are Shakespeare and folklore. I directed for ten years as part of the Shakespeare Schools Foundation and love the new meaning found in the plays with each performance. Similarly, I find myself drawn back to folklore and myth time and time again. It is always an area of research when visiting a new place. Summer 2023, I lived and worked on the Isle of Skye. This led to me co-hosting a show on Radio Skye called 'Travelling Ghouls', where we discussed local legends.
Consistently rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, I taught English to 11-18 year olds full time for 10 years and developed my practice by creating education resources, writing for AQA Magazine and exam marking for English Literature. I now focus on tuition and exam marking. I have extensive experience from within the UK education system within private, academy and state sectors.
