About Me

Kreena is a Brand Partner for infertility based pharmaceuticals’ amplifying the message that Families are created in many different ways. She is also an advisor to ICOS, the International Society of Cardio Oncology following her own diagnosis of both Cancer and Heart Failure.

Kreena’s mission is to transform the narrative - particularly within the South Asian community, by encouraging a dropping of the shame and suppression which so often surrounds trauma and illness.

A beacon of hope and resilience, Kreena has appeared on ITV’s Lorraine and Loose Women and featured in multiple print media outlets sharing her journey of facing her mortality and infertility in her thirties and miraculously changing those outcomes through faith and resilience.

Aged 33 Kreena was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, it was here that she began to connect her traumatic life experiences with the disease and begin her work to shed all that she believed had lead to her diagnosis. In 2016 Kreena was diagnosed with acute heart failure and almost lost her life, during that illness, Kreena experienced an awakening that challenged the prognosis she was given and guided her towards the life that she has curated for herself.

‘As my hair began to shed through chemotherapy, and every tick box that had made me a ‘suitable girl’ began to fade, the shame I carried around my illness and my infertility had me freefalling from the heights of perceived success. It was only once I had accepted and surrendered to my circumstance that I found the clarity to reconnect to myself, with who I was beneath the layers of social conditioning. From there came Faith in a future I believed in, and the resilience and tenacity to bring it to life.’

Kreena lost her fertility and ability to carry a pregnancy through her chronic diseases but she never lost faith in the future she envisioned. Within the South Asian community there is often stigma, shame and taboo surrounding cancer, infertility and so much more. The South Asian diaspora gave rise to a community that compared and competed for success, an aftermath of colonialism. That in turn created a one upmanship within the community, with any chink in armour, ill health or otherwise, being perceived as a sign of failure. Kreena paved the way to her four miracle children, accepting that some glass ceilings are made to be smashed along the way.

Her eldest child was born in 2018, following a round of urgent IVF ahead of chemotherapy and a surrogate pregnancy. Her 2nd, 3rd and 4th children are triplet boys, conceived using donor conception, carried by surrogate and born in the midst of a global pandemic.

Kreena’s story without doubt is moving, but beyond that, she is a living example of what it means to transmute pain into power and share it in service to all.
