“I'm a polymath, trying to work out how to find my place in a specialist world and working towards a nomadic lifestyle with my family”
TL:DR: I'm a 41-year old "posh" Scouser living on the south coast trying to escape a career that just keeps pulling me back in, trying to find my voice andy creative side while raising an inspiringly creative daughter.
If you looked at my Linkedin profile you'd see the picture of an experienced digital project manager. But beneath that wonderfully corporate exterior I have spent the last 25 years moving from thing to thing, trying, experimenting, learning, figuring things out...and I'm certainly no closer to figuring out what I want to do "when I grow up" other, that is, than to carry on doing exactly what I've beein doing up to now.
One thing I do know is that despite all the accusations of never finishing, never committing, never seeing things through, always chopping and changing and everything besides, I now understand what my brain does well. I understand how it does it and I understand why the world needs it and that has made all the difference to how I approach my life, my work and the way I raise my daughter.
And the outcome of all that is one big homeschool on wheels adventure - for the grown-ups and the small person. In the summer 2022 we'll be off but for now it's all about enjoying the journey of all the planning and building and learning and doing of getting our future eco-home-on-wheels ready to go.
