I’m Keith Harris, an entrepreneur and founder of Ballot Beacon, a nonpartisan civic-technology platform that explains confusing ballot measures and new laws in plain English and Spanish.
I’m not a politician, campaign operative, or partisan commentator. I’m a frustrated voter who spent years reading ballot language and asking, “What the hell does this actually mean?” Eventually, I stopped complaining and built a solution.
I’ve spent more than 26 years building and operating businesses across environmental services and technology, launched three startups, and helped build companies from the ground up—including one that was acquired.
Ballot Beacon explains what changes, what a yes or no vote really means, who could be affected, who is funding each side, and where the information comes from—without telling anyone how to vote. I call it a humanitarian play: everyone deserves a fair opportunity to understand decisions affecting their family, finances, rights, and community.
