“National journalist-turned-medium after a late-night experience sparked my curiosity. Allergic to spiritual gurus; everyone can do this.”
I spent a hundred years as a business journalist and novelist. I was confident in my craft and loved sharing other people's stories. But my own story? That was a little more blurry.
I struggled with confidence, and my life as a mother was tumultuous. Then 2020 cracked everything open — just like it did for so many people. I found Reiki healing and began to see who I was, what I needed to let go of, and the power I'd been leaving on the table my whole life.
And then I started having experiences I couldn't explain. Spiritual experiences. The journalist in me got curious — so I did what I always do. I sought to learn more. I began training as an evidential medium, honestly just out of curiosity, not knowing where it would go.
It was just magic. Connecting with people who had crossed to the other side opened up this incredible awareness in me that we are not just these physical bodies. We were learning how to tap into that natural awareness we have but turn off to understand personalities, jobs, relationships, experiences and more from the loved ones across the veil. The process of becoming a medium also changed me, forcing me to heal old stuff, change limiting beliefs, old patterns and trust in the universe like I never had before.
Today I'm a Reiki healer, an evidential medium, and the author of Tapped In: 31 Stories That Will Change How You Think About Intuition, Connection and the Afterlife — a book that grew out of that same curiosity. It's 31 true stories from ordinary people — detectives, nurses, executives, teachers — whose lives were permanently transformed by near-death experiences, spiritual awakenings, and moments that defied explanation. Each person shares not just what happened, but the wisdom that followed—lessons learned, advice they've received, best book they've read, daily habits and more. It's like having the advice from 31 mentors in your back pocket so you can start your own journey.
I can talk about:
Why connecting to energy and the spirit world is not for "special people." How so many ordinary left-brain people are waking up to this.
How I'm among so many "ordinary" people Why I'm allergic to gurus.
What prompted me to write the book, a story that underscores how everyone must follow the nudges to take big leaps in life.
What I learned from my interviews and research about consciousness, mediumship, grief and more.
How fear blocks you from spirit.
Why I think the pandemic broke open a spiritual awakening with something called "mortality salience." There's a yearn for something more.
What I learned in interviewing people who have grieved, discovered mediumship or had near-death experiences.
Why the cultural and religious rules that kept us from having this connection are starting to disappear.
Steps people can take to foster their own connection to their intuition.
How becoming a medium changes you personally, forcing you to get rid of the things that are no longer serving you.
How the topics/imagination of my first five novels and my skills as a journalist led me here.
