“Expanding Free Youth Sports Access Nationwide | Leader in Play-Based Youth Development”
Jen Rifkin is the Executive Director of the Volo Kids Foundation, where she oversees programming across 11 markets nationwide and works to ensure communities have the tools, resources, and support needed to unlock the power of play for kids. Since joining Volo Kids in 2018 and stepping into the Executive Director role in 2022, Jen has helped grow the organization from serving 10,000 children annually to nearly 30,000, while expanding into new markets including New Jersey, Miami, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles.
Before Volo Kids, Jen spent nearly a decade as an educator in Baltimore County, Maryland, specializing in curriculum development and integrated learning. Her transition into nonprofit leadership was driven by a desire to place children’s social and emotional development back at the center of decision-making. At Volo Kids, she has led operations and programming at both the local and national level and brings deep experience managing philanthropic and government funding, organizational strategy, and nonprofit governance.
Jen is a recognized voice in youth development and play-based learning, with appearances in Baltimore Magazine, The Baltimore Banner, and WMAR Midday Maryland, and as a speaker at the FundPlay Foundation. In 2024, she was named a Baltimore Magazine GameChanger for her impact in expanding equitable access to youth sports. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, Jen remains closely connected to sports herself and enjoys playing flag football and lacrosse outside of work.
Volo Kids Foundation is on a mission to build communities of active, resilient, and confident kids through quality sports programs, at no cost to families!
