Jared Stearns

I hope this doesn't read like a dating profile, but apropos of nothing, I am single. I studied print journalism at Emerson College in Boston when the internet was fast-replacing newspapers. Prescience is probably not one of my more robust attributes. I was on the night cops beat at The Boston Globe while I was a full-time student -- the kind of thing one can only do in their early twenties. Being sent to murder scenes at one a.m. was just as nifty as you could imagine. (For some reason, I became skilled at sneaking into hospitals and finding family members to interview. But sneaking into hospitals is illegal, so I'll probably remove this sentence later.) One might say I'm a "pop culture junkie," and that's a fair description, but nothing too modern or too popular. I've always half-joked that I'm a 200-year-old woman stuck in the body of a much, much younger gay guy. I'm originally from Boston but have lived in San Francisco for more than twenty years. Oh! I always wear two different colored socks. It's just my thing. My niece thinks it's weird.
