“A Senior Citizens forum”
Describing herself as a “very young” 70-ish, Janice Wood
enjoyed a great first career working for her native City of
Los Angeles. Soon after she retired, she realized that her
hobbies of volunteering and fundraising just weren’t going
to be enough for her organized, service-oriented, people-
focused personality. The result was her own dream job: it
involved working with a diversity of people, from medical
professionals and activities directors at senior centers, to
seniors themselves. It let her get to know and care for
clients on a personal level. It presented the exciting
challenge of staying abreast of the fascinating dynamics
that drive the nation’s leading-edge health insurance
companies, as well as mentoring and training new agents.
She now has 14 years of experience in the world of
Medicare Health Insurance and represents many
insurance carriers. Janice has a number of favorite
pastimes. She enjoys live performances of nearly any
kind, from plays and musicals to classic rock concerts.
She also loves to experience different cultures, so she
travels extensively. She has family in Hawaii as well as the
Midwest, Brazil and frequently visits those places, but she
has also toured extensively in Europe and other parts of
the world.
