About Me

James Parker is an American author of geopolitical thriller fiction exploring themes of global conflict, ideology, and end-times belief systems.

Born in Dallas, Texas (May 14, 1958) and raised in Garland, Texas, he graduated from South Garland High School in 1976. From an early age, he was actively involved in church-based academic and creative programs at First Free Will Baptist Church in Garland, including the Church Training Service (CTS), where he competed in Bible Sword Drill, Bible Tic Tac Toe, Bible Bowl, music, and songwriting competitions at local, state, and national levels. He earned multiple awards, including a gold medal in songwriting.

He became a Christian at a young age at church camp at age 8 and continued memorizing scripture through the Bible Memory Association (BMA) from ages 8 to 18. These early experiences shaped both his discipline in study and his lifelong interest in theology, scripture, and narrative storytelling.

He later attended Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College in Moore, Oklahoma, where he began writing songs and developing his early creative work. Over time, he has written more than 100 songs, many of them partial or unfinished compositions. He also attended East Texas State University and later graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

He currently lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he works as a pharmacist.

In 2006, during the rise in popularity of the Left Behind series, Parker began reflecting on end-times prophecy and how modern global events might align with biblical themes. Around the same time, he began exploring the rapid growth of Islam as a global religion and its potential role in future geopolitical developments.

His curiosity led him to research Islamic eschatology and political history, including references to the 12th Imam (al-Mahdi) in Twelver Shia tradition. He studied both Islamic sources and biblical prophecy, noting similarities in themes surrounding end-times leadership, global conflict, and final judgment narratives.

These studies became the foundation for his fictional exploration of a future geopolitical world shaped by competing belief systems, ideological conflict, and global instability.

Rather than attempting to predict real-world events, Parker’s writing focuses on fictional scenarios inspired by historical and theological ideas, combining his background in biblical study with his interest in modern geopolitical systems.

Parker’s creative work is influenced by decades of biblical study, church involvement, and interest in global history and prophecy. He continues to write fiction that explores the intersection of belief systems, world events, and human decision-making under pressure.

He currently attends Liberty Baptist Church in Las Vegas with his family, where he participates in choir on Sunday mornings.

Parker’s goal as a writer is not to forecast the future, but to explore how ideas—religious, political, and cultural—can shape the way people interpret global events. His work combines fictional storytelling with long-standing questions about faith, conflict, and the direction of human history.

  • The 12th Imam: Rise of the Antichrist (Book 1)
  • The 12th Imam: The Tribulation Begins (Book 2)
  • The 12th Imam: Judgments of God (Book 3)
  • The 12th Imam: Prelude to Deception (Book 4 – Prequel)

In addition to the 12th Imam geopolitical thriller series, James Parker has written in several other genres, including alternate history, speculative fiction, poetry, and practical non-fiction. While each work is distinct in tone and subject, they all explore “what if” questions involving history, belief, culture, and human decision-making.
