“Charityworker, writer, filmmaker keen to explore global crisis/transition, Ageless Wisdom, whether a World Teacher could emerge at this time”
Graham Peebles is an independent writer, documentary filmmaker, and charity worker based in London. His essays on geopolitics, environment, social justice, education, and spirituality are widely published across leading independent media outlets.
In 2005 he set up a UK charity (The Create Trust), running educational projects for marginalised children and women in Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Palestine, and India. He has made two short documentaries, most recently the award-winning We're Still Breathing: Amhara Genocide in Ethiopia.
His current film, At The Turning (due Autumn 2026), suggests we are living through a period of profound crisis – a transitional juncture marked by wars, division, environmental breakdown, and deepening inequality. At The Turning highlights the longing for a new way of living and explores the idea that Maitreya – the World Teacher expected across many traditions – has returned to the everyday world.
Graham draws on four decades of meditation and study of Eastern philosophy: Advaita Vedanta, Ramana Maharshi, the Ageless Wisdom teachings, Alice Bailey, Benjamin Creme, and J. Krishnamurti, among others.
