About Me

Giovanni Marcantoni is the Founder and CEO of Volo Sports, the largest provider of community-focused adult recreational sports leagues and social events in the United States.

He founded Volo in 2010 after organizing a casual bocce league as a way to relax and meet new people. What started as a simple effort to bring people together organically grew into a national platform operating in major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, San Diego, San Francisco, Denver, Miami, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. Since its founding, Volo has surpassed 1 million lifetime registrations and now employs more than 160 full-time team members nationwide. Adults participate in Volo leagues and events not just for fitness, but to build friendships, meet partners, and find real-world connection.

In 2015, Giovanni founded the Volo Kids Foundation to address the growing cost barriers that make youth sports inaccessible for many families. Today, Volo Kids provides completely free, high-quality youth sports programming in 11 markets nationwide, serving more than 24,000 kids annually. Funded in part by adult league participation under the philosophy “We play so kids play free,” the model creates a sustainable cycle where community recreation directly supports youth access to sports.

Giovanni lives in Baltimore with his wife, whom he met through that original bocce league, and their child, with another on the way.
