About Me

I am a mother of four and Granny of four. I wanted to write my story for my grandchildren to remember me by. Also to tell people about what it was like to be an adoptee taken from a loving mother who was not allowed to keep me because she was unmarried. I belong to a group called MAA which is The Movement for an Adoption Apology many birth mothers and adoptees are trying to get a government apology for the terrible things that happened in the 1950’s 60’ &70s so many mothers had their babies sent for adoption often against their will and the treatment they received was appalling.

Writing and publishing my memoir has been an amazing journey of self discovery I have enjoyed the process been helped by a wonderful group of people Called Write That Book group hosted by Michael Heppell a Sunday times best seller author and motivational speaker.

It’s not the book you read that will change your life it’s the book you write.

I feel like a different person since writing my story, it has been a very emotional but cathartic experience. Everyone has a story to tell, don’t we all wish we had found out more about our grandparents lives? Now they are gone we cannot ask them.

I would love to encourage more people to write down their stories, not everyone want to write a book but your story will live on, long after you have gone.
