Dr Anna Hemming

I have dedicated – and continue to dedicate – my working life to delivering exceptional clinical care, and supporting individuals to be the very best versions of themselves: physically, mentally, and emotionally.

My medical career began back in 1996, and I became a fully-qualified medical doctor just six years later. Over the years, I've held a number of highly prestigious roles, including: a commission in the British Army, travelling with expedition medicine, and hospital specialties in surgery, anaesthetics, obstetrics and gynaecology, acute medicine, and emergency departments. Plus, for seven years, I was the GP for Buckingham Palace – caring for the family, staff and those who lived in, as well as working as part of the Queen’s medical team. Each has provided specialist experience, shaped my personality, and broadened my understanding in how to deliver the very best treatments, based on bespoke needs and requirements.

My true passion, however, lies in protecting, restoring, and enhancing skin health. I advocate for tailoring every single treatment to each individual and their holistic needs – ensuring that they look (and feel) their most authentic and confident selves.

This unwavering commitment to skin health is motivated by my own personal challenges, after having suffered with eczema as a child, and rosacea and dermographia as an adult.

Then, in 2019, armed with extensive medical experience, personal motivation, and over 10 years of experience in the world of aesthetic medicine, I founded Thames Skin Clinic. As specialists in natural-looking aesthetics, the clinic’s signature treatments focus on skin rejuvenation, including: treating acne, rosacea, scarring and pigmentation; natural anti-ageing; and skin tightening.

Passionate about continued development, I also trained in ZO skin health by Dr Zein Obagi himself in Beverly Hills, and have been using this to transform patients’ skin since it arrived in the UK in 2009. And, more recently, in June 2024, myself and my team have been at the forefront of industry innovation, playing a key part in the UK case studies ahead of launching Profhilo Structura alongside HADerma. Among only a small number of exclusive clinics able to offer this pioneering injectable to restore, regenerate and reposition skin, I'm proud to be a leading expert in its application, and shares these insights across the globe.

Described as a ‘goddess with a needle’, over the past 15 years (and counting!) I have gently guided patients throughout their entire skin journey, helping them to achieve their own unique skin goals – both now and for the future. Our ethos is based on the recognition that everyone is individual, that we all age in different ways but have a preferred physical aesthetic, and that how we look and feel has a huge impact on our wellbeing.

Advocating for supporting self-confidence in patients, I work tirelessly to solve health problems that have alluded patients for years. The results? A significant improvement to individuals’ mental health and confidence to enable them to live life to the fullest.

Testament to my extensive expertise, I am renowned throughout the industry as a keynote speaker, thought leader, and Founding Member of Women in Aesthetic Medicine (WiAM). Thanks to my devotion to furthering the sector, I've been recognised in a number of industry awards, and in just the past few years alone have been awarded the Aesthetic Award for Best New Clinic UK & Ireland 2022, Highly Commended as Best Medical Practitioner at the Safety & Beauty Awards 2023, and Aesthetic Medicine’s Best Clinic Team 2024.

And, on a mission to continue sharing my expert insights, I'm currently writing a book: The Ultimate Skin Guide: understanding the art and science behind natural-looking skin rejuvenation.
