“Development economist turned fashion founder building a regenerative global brand that empowers women artisans in Indonesia”
Denica Riadini-Flesch is the founder and creative director of SukkhaCitta, an award-winning Indonesian fashion and lifestyle brand redefining what ethical fashion can be. A trained development economist, Denica launched SukkhaCitta after witnessing firsthand the barriers facing women in rural Indonesia. Today, the brand partners with artisan communities across seven villages to create handcrafted garments using indigenous weaving, natural dyeing, embroidery, and regenerative farming practices, while creating long-term economic opportunities for women and their families.
Under Denica's leadership, SukkhaCitta became the first Indonesian fashion brand to earn B Corp certification and has become an internationally recognized example of how business can drive social, cultural, and environmental impact.
Denica is a compelling voice on sustainable fashion, women's economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, ethical supply chains, regenerative agriculture, preserving traditional craftsmanship, and why handmade products matter more than ever in an era increasingly defined by AI, automation, and mass production. Her work challenges conventional thinking about the fashion industry while offering a hopeful vision for its future—one rooted in people, culture, and purpose.
Rolex Laureate Denica Riadini-Flesch founded the fashion brand SukkhaCitta in 2016, working with female farmers and artisans across Indonesia to create a fully traceable supply chain.
