About Me

I'm a Yorkshire lass living in Scotland. From an early age, I was passionate about cycling and walking in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside - even racing against the legendary Beryl Burton - but never beating her! In my late teens, I fell in love with the Lake District, especially the Langdale Valley, and I dream of living there one day.

My claim to fame, so to speak, is that my Border Collie, Beatrix (named after Beatrix Potter), had to get help for me when I suffered a heart attack at the summit of one of the Scottish Munroes. This amazing dog then wrote a book about her life with me.

Now, I like to inspire others who have faced similar challenges in life. I know from experience that the psychological effects of a heart attack can last far longer than the physical effects for both the patient and their family, friends, and colleagues.

I'm the author of two published books, The Magical Tearoom on the Hill and Beatrix The Time Travelling Collie. I'm working on my third book, Camper Van Capers - Have You Turned The Water On?
