Debora Wondercheck is the Founder and CEO of the Arts & Learning Conservatory, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable, and culturally inclusive arts education to youth throughout Southern California. Since its founding in 2004, the Conservatory has served more than 30,000 students, many from underserved communities, offering musical theater, dance, instrumental music, and vocal training programs that inspire creativity, confidence, and community connection.
With nearly 30 years of experience in arts education, Debora is a powerful advocate for equity in the arts and a thought leader at the intersection of education, culture, and community development. A classically trained cellist, experienced conductor, and professor of string pedagogy, she brings both artistic expertise and a deep commitment to social impact. Her notable work includes producing Gospel Voices of OC, a dynamic multi-generational performance series that celebrates African American heritage through music and storytelling.
Debora’s influence extends beyond the stage. She has received multiple prestigious honors, including being named Woman of the Year for Costa Mesa, Arts Commissioner and Chair of the Costa Mesa Cultural Arts Commission (2024), and recognized by She Leads California as a Woman of Distinction.
