“Early internet pioneer turned robotics founder. I help entrepreneurs stop the startup theater and build real, profitable businesses.”
I've spent 30 years building companies across hardware, software, AI, and surgical robotics—and I've learned more from the failures than the wins. I helped develop the first commercial internet software for Macs and PCs, built the first commercial Wi-Fi hotspot at Lucent Bell Labs, and co-founded Galen Robotics where we raised $25.5 million and secured FDA clearance for the world's first cooperatively controlled microsurgical robot.
Along the way, I've brought 40+ products to market and managed IP portfolios with 50+ patents. But here's what matters more: I've also walked away from profitable companies, shut down businesses that weren't worth finishing, and learned that success isn't about unicorn fantasies—it's about building something real that doesn't burn you out.
I wrote Founders Who Finish because I got tired of watching smart people fail for preventable reasons. I don't do motivational fluff. I share what actually works: the three numbers that keep companies alive, how to stop being the bottleneck in your own business, and why most founders shouldn't raise VC money.
Let's talk about building companies that give you more freedom, not less.
