My name is Dan and I'm passionate about helping brands and individuals tell their stories through clear and effective communications.
To that end, my background and passion lies in professional sport. I began my career reporting on non-league football before moving into the professional game, where I worked for eight years at Premier League club Aston Villa - firstly as a club journalist and latterly as editor of the award-winning matchday programme.
I'm now head of media and communications for a business support organisation which represents 3,000 companies. However, my passion for sport lives on through my involvement as a director of the City of Birmingham Rockets basketball club who play in England's National Basketball League.
Between 2020 and 2022, I hosted and produced the Epic Brum podcast - focusing on lifestyle, culture and entertainment in my home city of Birmingham. This allowed me to indulge other passions such as promoting local indie bands and interviewing chefs, artists and other interesting cultural figures.
My other specialist subject is music - I love guitars and have a vast knowledge of 90s and 2000s guitar music (particularly the 90s Britpop and early 2000s indie/alternative scenes), as well as artists such as The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen.
