Dan Cottrell

Having started his podcasting journey way before it was fashionable back in 2007, Dan has an impressive story to share about mastering the broadcasting craft as a hobby first, before turning the passion into a business 13 years later during a global pandemic. Well respected as a senior business leader outside of podcasting, Dan spotted an opportunity to turn brand stories into ‘podcastable’ opportunities when traditional storytelling methods such as events, conferences, exhibitions and experiential events were no longer possible. Fast forward two years and Dan has led The Podcast Guys® across both sides of the Atlantic, employing 12 full-time employees and an enviable corporate client list across a multitude of sectors. 

Self-confessed as an ‘ideas man’, Dan will explain why he chose to invest much of his initial self-funded seed money into purchasing a London Black Cab when starting the business and why he thinks that his love for audio and the spoken word tracks back to re-creating radio shows on a ‘ghetto blaster’ as an ambitious 10-year-old.

Outside of work, Dan (38) is married to Rachel (38) and have two children together, Hudson (aged 7) and Myles (aged 4) – he is a keen traveller, having worked in various locations around the world throughout his corporate career and enjoys learning and understanding different cultures. He enjoys entertaining friends and hosting dinner parties; in fact, he loves it so much that he had a light-up dancefloor installed in his home!
