“Founder/editor of the first international news source dedicated to stories of BIPOC classically trained musicians.”
I've been a lifelong freelance writer and have covered politics for The Huffington Post, founded a pioneering green living publication out of Chicago that ran for 9 years, founded, edit and manage the first international news source focused on BIPOC classically trained musicians. I have also written about food, culture, education, life learning, minimalism, social justice movements, anti-racism, green living, sustainability, health, lifestyle, parenting, secular home education, parenting the young musician, classical music and modern music genres such as folk, pop, and jazz. I am the parent of two grown classically trained musicians who now attend top conservatories in Boston and London. I helped facilitate the secular homeschooling of both of my children from birth to college. Some of my other interests involve living as a mixed race person of Asian descent, helping other families learn how to help their homeschooled children apply for colleges, traveling, photography, Chicago history, and working toward achieving an advanced level of French speaking. I currently serve as Commissioner of the Equity and Empowerment Commission in Evanston, IL.
