I started programming with the Apple II when I was in high school. I've owned a custom software business for 31 years and teach computers to do boring tasks so people don't have to. More recently I've become passionate about protecting companies from ransomware and other data disasters...man-made and otherwise. Seeing a financial firm lose their stock trading database to lightning and a large industrial company lose their payroll to a malicious virus led me to look for a better way. My new company, Verified Backups, was my pandemic project. I found a way to protect companies that nobody else was doing. So much so that I received a US Patent for my process in May, 2022. What if there was a way to know for certain that your backups are good and contain valid, uncorrupted data...ready for a quick recovery in any situation? Believe me...backups don't seem sexy...until you save a company in the midst of a crisis. A lot like life insurance...not at all sexy but when you deliver a check to a widow there's nothing more powerful.
I've been on 7 podcasts, some more than once, and have been told I'm entertaining (my kids would say otherwise!) and make technical ideas simple and meaningful. I'm looking forward to inspiring your audience as well!
