About Me

Carrie Classon’s column, The Postscript, is syndicated by Andrews McMeel Universal and runs in approximately 200 newspapers every week. In 2026, her debut novel, Loon Point, will be released by Lake Union. It is a hopeful, deeply felt story about second chances, and the life-changing people who turn up when you open your heart.

Carrie believes in the transformative power of stories to change our lives and that it is never too late to reinvent ourselves in unexpected and fulfilling ways.

She is an unabashed proponent of optimism, and her column strives to find extraordinary meaning in the ordinary. She loves to talk about the joy of being a late bloomer, how optimism can be cultivated through a practice of gratitude, and how a nasty Facebook post inspired her novel.

She is a native Minnesotan, and in her spare time Carrie talks to strange dogs, photographs other people’s gardens, and avidly avoids handicrafts.
