“Former US and Ukrainian soldier. Platoon commander, deputy intel chief, and logistics director for the Ukrainian military”
Carl Larson is an American veteran who also spent 4.5 months as a soldier in the International Legion of Ukraine in 2022. He returned August 2022 from several months at the front in eastern Ukraine. Carl was born and raised in the greater Seattle area, had a stint in the US Army where he served in Iraq, and in his day job services a large accounting website. In early March of 2022 he felt compelled to travel to Ukraine to physically join the Ukrainian defense of their homeland. He feels that it's the world's obligation to help the Ukrainians defend democracy there and contain the spread of authoritarianism before it engulfs other peaceful countries.
Carl Larson served in the US Army from 2001 to 2004, which included fighting in Iraq.
The challenges of volunteering to serve in Ukraine led to work back home for a Snohomish County veteran, including fundraising for much-needed supplies.
