About Me

I am a registered dietitian and owner of Steady State Nutrition - a practice that specializes in eating disorder treatment and sports nutrition. I empower athletes to fuel themselves and reach their highest potential in their sport WITHOUT counting macros, following diet trends, or restricting their intake.

While I am comfortable discussing a wide range of topics around nutrition and sport, my specialties include:

  • Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) - Underfueling in sport is more common than you may think, and can lead to a constellation of symptoms known as RED-S. So, how do we spot it? How do we intervene? Most importantly, how do we create a safe culture for athletes to feel comfortable fueling?
  • Fueling for Injury Treatment and Prevention - Many athletes think "if I'm injured, I don't need to fuel myself as much." NOT the case - energy needs can be increased from 15-50% when injured! How can we use nutrition to get back to sport safely?
  • Navigating Diet Culture in the Fitness Space - Diet culture is so ubiquitous at this point that it can be hard to spot. Using thought exercises and the power of nutrition knowledge, I help people reach their fitness goals while maintaining a healthy relationship with food and their bodies
  • Athletes can eat Intuitively, too! - I discuss how to be an amazing athlete WITHOUT counting macros, weighing food, or restricting intake. Using an approach called Athlete Plates can help athletes eat intuitively in the height of their training.
  • Fueling Up for a PR - How to properly carb load, how many grams of carbs you should have during a race, how to practice nutrition during training, what to eat before a race, and more!

My ideal audiences include:

  • Endurance athletes such as runners, cyclists, and triathletes
  • Individuals looking to improve their relationship with their bodies and/or food
  • Coaches of endurance athletes
  • Healthcare providers such as sports physicians or physical therapists

I am a great podcast guest because:

  • With years of clinical experience and being up to date on current research, I am a resource for evidence-based nutrition information for listeners
  • I provide a gentle approach to nutrition, encouraging listeners to listen to their bodies rather than tracking nutrition intake, following strict meal plans, or weighing their food
  • In working with hundreds of clients in my career, I have developed the ability to speak about nutrition principles in a way that is easily digestible and conversational
  • I enjoy having a conversation with podcast hosts - I don't have the desire to lecture listeners or talk the entire time!
