Brendan D. Murphy is an Australian consciousness researcher and author based in Mexico. For 23 years he has studied what happens to consciousness after death, drawing on near-death experience research, parapsychology, and the world's contemplative and esoteric traditions.
His Consciousness Transition Model is a cross-tradition, evidence-based map of post-mortem states. His second book, Reverse Engineering the Afterlife (2026), sets out the model and the evidence behind it. His first book, The Grand Illusion, was published in 2012.
Brendan is a Professional Member of IANDS and a Professional Affiliate of the Galileo Commission.
