“From Antique Shows to AI: Building a Better Way to Sell Online”
Bill Murray grew up in the antique business, long before eBay, smartphones, or online marketplaces existed. He spent years around antique shows, flea markets, auctions, collectibles, and people who made a living finding something undervalued and getting it in front of the right buyer.
Decades later, the marketplaces changed, but Bill discovered that one frustrating part of reselling hadn't changed nearly enough: the work required to identify an item, figure out what it's worth, photograph it, write a title and description, research where to sell it, and enter essentially the same information over and over again.
That experience led him to create AI Seller Assist, an AI-powered platform designed to take much of the repetitive labor out of selling online. Instead of relying on a single AI model, the system uses multiple AI engines to independently analyze items and reach a consensus about what they are, how they should be described, and what they may be worth.
Bill brings an unusual perspective to the AI conversation. He isn't approaching resale as a Silicon Valley outsider trying to automate an industry he just discovered. He's someone who grew up in the business and is now applying modern AI to problems sellers have been wrestling with for decades.
He's an engaging guest for conversations about AI, entrepreneurship, online marketplaces, antiques and reselling, building technology from a real-world problem, and what happens when old-school buying and selling collides with artificial intelligence.
