“Fractional partnership operator on how companies build partner programs that actually drive revenue, from first deal to repeatable pipeline.”
I'm Ben, and I help companies turn partnerships into one of their most reliable revenue channels. At Ecolens, I help run a fractional partnership operator team. We work with companies that know partnerships should be driving growth but don't have the in-house team, playbook, or bandwidth to make it happen. We help design the program, bring on and activate the right partners, and build the operating rhythm that keeps pipeline flowing long after launch.
My perspective on execution comes from building a company the hard way. Before Ecolens, I built Blu Opportunity, a solar financing company. Our plan assumed steady market growth and strong installer adoption, with those installers also feeding into our parent company's SolarSuccess platform. Then two shocks hit almost back to back. California moved from NEM 2 to NEM 3, sharply cutting new residential solar projects in what was then the most active solar market in the country. Soon after, the Federal Reserve ended its zero interest rate policy, and the downturn accelerated. Within a few months, it was clear the plan wasn't going to work.
That experience changed how I think about planning. Good priorities aren't enough. The plans that survive are the ones whose assumptions have been pressure-tested against reality, and where every priority has a clear Definition of Done: measurable acceptance criteria, a named owner, and a check-in cadence that surfaces problems early instead of too late. I bring that same rigor to partner programs, where it's easy to sign agreements and announce logos but much harder to turn relationships into revenue.
Topics I love to dig into:
I'm candid about what went wrong, practical about what works, and happy to get specific. My goal is for founders, revenue leaders, and operators to walk away with frameworks they can use the next day.
