In 2005, I moved to Germany with my husband and began teaching Business English. But I quickly realized grammar and vocabulary weren’t enough; what people really needed was guidance on how to navigate pivotal conversations with strategy, empathy, and humor. That discovery launched me into communication psychology, intercultural dynamics, and the art of listening not just to others, but to ourselves.
Today, I’m the founder of BEECOMMUNICATION, where I coach leaders, entrepreneurs, and teams to use humor as a tool for influence, resilience, and connection. My TEDx talk, Embracing Humor, explores how we can learn through conflict—using laughter as a way to understand, defuse, and grow from our differences.
I’m also an author, with works including Gurrl, You Ain’t Crazy (a motivational humor book) self-published, and Looking for an agent for A Year in Strudelbach: A Black Woman’s Guide to German Village Life( a short story anthology and memoir). I’m currently writing Stand Up: When Shutting Up Isn’t a F* Option, a book on the power of communication when you can no longer remain silent.
As a performer, I’ve written and produced two one-woman stand-up comedy shows in Germany, blending storytelling and humor to spark connection. Whether on stage, in print, or on a podcast, my mission is the same: turning setbacks into punchlines that uplift and empower.
