About Me

Asia Francine Butler, known among her friends as "The Last of the Time Lords" is a Community Advocate, Business Services Representative for the NCWorks Rivers East region, and an AmeriCorps Alumna. After earning her Bachelors Degree in History in 2016, Asia began working as a Field Organizer and campaigning to support Roy Cooper, the Democratic candidate in North Carolina's gubernational election. Shortly afterwards, she was promoted to working as a Field Organizer in Raleigh to support Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate in the U.S. Presidential election. Then, after realizing her passion and potential in serving young children in her community, Asia applied for and accepted a role in Teach for America's ranks. Furthermore, Asia also engages in improving the lives of many people in the North Carolina community through volunteer organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity, the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Program, and Common Ground of ENC. Her ultimate goal is to augment her community and improve the resources available to it. She is grateful that she has the opportunity to do so everyday as a worker for EDSI within various NCWorks Career Centers.
