About Me

Of Palestinian origin, author Ashraf W. Nubani grew up in America. Living in the US, he enjoys freedom in the West. However, his adopted country supports Israeli apartheid and after 9/11 the government has been violating civil liberties of law abiding Muslims. Reciprocating the goodness he has experienced as an American, Ashraf seeks to build a bridge of understanding between Islam and the West. His first book "Bridging the Gap: Islam's Challenge for America" attempts to do just that. For him being an American means championing the under dog and upholding the constitution. As a lawyer he has defended the most vulnerable among us in government manufactured "terrorism" cases and navigated immigrants to safety and citizenship through inhospitable immigration laws.

American conservative and family values have served him well. Married for over thirty years, he has successfully raised a family and is now a grandfather. He is starting a podcast titled "Ask a Palestinian" where the world can hear directly from a Palestinian on the issues of Palestine and Israel. A Muslim sermon giver, Ashraf preaches that faith has a positive and valuable role to play in the free marketplace of ideas and the public sphere. He warns that post modernism suppresses innate faith in God at its own peril. In addition to a mater's degree in history and a law degree Ashraf is completing a master's degree in Islamic Religious Leadership from Boston Islamic Seminary. His hobbies include fermenting kombucha from herbs, cheese and yogurt making and water fasting for health.
